Focus 1: Ground & Let Go

The Lung and Large Intestine Meridians, governed by the Metal Element, invite us into the sacred practice of letting go. Just as autumn sheds its leaves, we too are called to release what no longer serves - grief, old stories, outdated patterns - creating space for clarity, renewal, and fresh inspiration. This element teaches us the beauty of refinement and discernment. In practice, we turn to chest and arm openers to support the lungs, twisting postures to activate the Large Intestine meridian, and breath-centered movement to deepen the connection between body, mind, and spirit. Each inhale becomes a moment of presence; each exhale, a powerful act of release.

Focus 2: Root & Restore

The Kidney and Bladder Meridians align with the Water Element, guiding us into the depths of inner stillness and resilience. Water teaches us to move with fluidity, yet remain rooted -building inner strength and cultivating the courage to face life’s uncertainties. This element supports the grounding of the nervous system and the restoration of vital energy. In practice, we embrace forward folds and hip openers to access the kidney meridian, while spine-lengthening and gentle backbends stimulate the bladder line. Slow, grounding breath-work becomes our anchor, inviting fear to soften and willpower to rise from within, like a deep well of calm determination.

Focus 3: Expand & Grow

The Liver and Gallbladder Meridians are governed by the Wood Element, a force of growth, expansion, and purposeful direction. Like a tree rooted yet reaching, this energy invites us to release stored frustration, clarify our vision, and move forward with resilience and grace. Wood supports our ability to make clear decisions and take inspired action. In our yoga practice, we nourish this element through side body lengthening and twisting to stimulate the Liver and Gallbladder lines, hip releases to soften stagnation, and strong standing poses to build stability and momentum. We flow with intention, pausing in moments of stillness to realign with our inner truth and highest potential.

Focus 4: Open & Connect

The Small Intestine Meridian, governed by the Fire Element, invites us to ignite the heart’s wisdom and embody our most authentic expression. This energy fuels joy, connection, and the ability to discern what truly nourishes us - emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. The Fire Element encourages us to shine brightly while staying rooted in inner truth. In practice, we turn to expansive heart openers and chest-opening postures, arm balances to activate strength and trust, and upper spine movements to awaken vitality. Energizing breathwork fans the inner flame, supporting a radiant flow of energy that uplifts, inspires, and opens the doorway to deeper connection with self and others.

Focus 5: Integrate & Nourish

The Spleen and Stomach Meridians align with the Earth Element, offering us a return to center - a place of grounding, integration, and self-nourishment. This energy reminds us to care for ourselves with steadiness and compassion, especially in times of change or overwhelm. Earth teaches us how to transform worry into rooted stability through mindful presence and embodied support. In our practice, we focus on core activation and balancing postures to strengthen our center, gentle twists to aid digestion and energetic flow, and grounding sequences that reconnect us with the earth beneath us. Savasana with guided visualization completes the practice, inviting a deep sense of peace, wholeness, and inner belonging.
